LEGO Darth Vader’s Lightsaber GWP and Double Insiders Points: 1–7 October 2026
LEGO has launched two Star Wars promotions running from 1 to 7 October 2026. The headline offer for investors is Darth Vader’s Lightsaber (40897), a gift with purchase tied to the new Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457). LEGO Insiders members can also earn double points on 19 selected Star Wars sets during the same period.

Darth Vader’s Lightsaber (40897): a GWP with serious investment potential
Darth Vader’s Lightsaber (40897) is available as a gift with purchase when an order includes LEGO Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457). The offer runs from 1 to 7 October 2026, while stocks last, through LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and LEGO catalogue telephone orders. It is limited to one gift per household.
Investabrick’s earlier analysis of three previous LEGO Star Wars lightsaber GWPs recorded secondary-market values of $150 for 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber, $175 for 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber and $240 for 6346098 Yoda’s Lightsaber. All three were reported to have sold for more than $100 shortly after their original promotional periods ended.
That history makes the Darth Vader edition a particularly interesting promotion. Buildable lightsaber hilts have developed an identifiable collector following, and previous releases were linked to major Star Wars purchases rather than being widely available retail sets. Darth Vader is also one of the franchise’s most recognisable characters, giving this new hilt an obvious audience among Star Wars collectors and those looking to complete the series.
The historical record supports a bullish view of its collector prospects, although it does not establish what 40897 will sell for once this offer closes. Its eventual value will depend on how many gifts enter the market, collector demand and whether LEGO offers it again. Investors considering the qualifying Executor Super Star Destroyer should factor the potential GWP resale value into their overall purchase economics, without treating previous lightsaber prices as guaranteed returns.
The gift cannot be purchased separately through this promotion or exchanged for cash. If the qualifying purchase is returned for a refund, the GWP must also be returned. The offer cannot be applied to previous purchases.
Double LEGO Insiders points on 19 selected Star Wars sets
LEGO Insiders members can earn twice the usual points on the following 19 sets from 1 to 7 October 2026:
- 40795 Luke Skywalker (Rebel Pilot)
- 40806 Gingerbread AT-AT Walker
- 75328 The Mandalorian Helmet
- 75398 C-3PO
- 75406 Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle
- 75407 Brick-Built Star Wars Logo
- 75408 Jango Fett Helmet
- 75409 Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship
- 75415 Kylo Ren Helmet
- 75417 AT-ST Walker
- 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet
- 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter
- 75423 SMART Play: Luke’s Red Five X-Wing
- 75421 SMART Play: Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter
- 75427 SMART Play: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing
- 75426 SMART Play: Millennium Falcon
- 75422 SMART Play: Yoda’s Hut and Jedi Training
- 75425 SMART Play: Mos Eisley Cantina
- 75438 Yoda Bust
The double-points offer applies only to the sets listed above. In particular, Executor Super Star Destroyer (75457), which qualifies for the Lightsaber GWP, is not on the double-points list. Buyers should therefore not assume the two benefits can be stacked on that purchase.
The offer is available on LEGO.com, in LEGO Stores and through LEGO catalogue telephone orders, while stocks last. LEGO Insiders membership is required. Store points are credited immediately; points from online and telephone orders are added within 24 hours after dispatch and payment. Points do not apply to taxes, delivery charges or gift-card purchases, and the offer cannot be combined with another LEGO Insiders offer, discount or voucher.
Investabrick verdict
Of the two October promotions, Darth Vader’s Lightsaber is the more significant investment story. Previous lightsaber GWPs have achieved resale prices far above their nominal promotional values, giving 40897 a credible collector case and making the qualifying purchase worth examining carefully. Double points are a useful additional incentive on the selected sets, but investors should still compare the benefit against cash discounts available elsewhere.
Both promotions are scheduled to finish on 7 October 2026 and may end earlier if stocks run out. Neither offer is valid at LEGOLAND Parks, LEGOLAND Discovery Centres or LEGO Certified Stores. LEGO reserves the right to amend or cancel its promotions.
