LEGO Lord of the Rings Fans Can Earn Double Insiders Points on Rivendell, Barad-dûr and The Shire
The LEGO Group is marking the launch of 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith with a rather tempting Middle-earth bonus: double LEGO Insiders points on three of its flagship Lord of the Rings sets.
From June 1 to June 7, fans in the UK, Europe and Australia can earn double points on 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr and 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores.
It is not quite a straight-up discount, but for LEGO collectors and investors, double points still means money back to spend later. And when we are talking about sets at this price point, those points actually start to look pretty tasty.
LEGO Lord of the Rings Fans Can Earn Double Points on Three Iconic Middle-earth Sets
| Set | Set Number | Promotion | Investabrick View |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEGO Lord of the Rings Rivendell | 10316 | Double LEGO Insiders points | Excellent set, but compare against retailer discounts. |
| LEGO Lord of the Rings Barad-dûr | 10333 | Double LEGO Insiders points | Strong display piece, but watch for deeper third-party discounts. |
| LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Shire | 10354 | Double LEGO Insiders points | Potentially the best buy in this promotion. |
LEGO Lord of the Rings Double Points Promotion – Which Set Offers the Best Value?
If Minas Tirith has emptied your wallet just by looking at it, this double points promo gives you another route into the current LEGO Lord of the Rings line-up.
The big one for many fans will still be 10316 LEGO® Lord of the Rings™ Rivendell™. It remains one of the most impressive display sets LEGO has released in recent years, and it has already cemented itself as a modern classic among Lord of the Rings collectors. It is not cheap, but then again, neither was the journey to Mordor.
10333 LEGO® Lord of the Rings™ Barad-dûr™ is another monster of a set, both in size and shelf presence. It is the darker, moodier counterpart to Rivendell, and for collectors who like their display pieces dramatic enough to make the rest of the room feel slightly nervous, it certainly does the job.
But from an Investabrick perspective, the most interesting set in this promotion could be 10354 LEGO® The Lord of the Rings: The Shire™.
Why The Shire Might Be the Best Buy
Rivendell and Barad-dûr have both occasionally dropped to around 15% off at Amazon UK, which means double Insiders points at LEGO is useful, but not necessarily unbeatable.
The Shire, however, has not yet had the same kind of discount treatment. That makes this double points offer more attractive, especially for anyone who was already planning to pick it up.
At £229.99 in the UK, double points gives you around £23 back in LEGO Insiders value. That is effectively a future LEGO discount in your pocket, which helps soften the blow a little. Not completely, obviously. This is LEGO. Your wallet is still going to make a small noise.
For collectors, The Shire also has strong long-term appeal. It is based on one of the most beloved locations in The Lord of the Rings, has broad display appeal, and taps directly into the nostalgia factor that often helps licensed LEGO sets perform well after retirement.
Should You Buy Direct from LEGO?
The answer depends on the set.
For Rivendell and Barad-dûr, it may be worth comparing against third-party retailers, especially if Amazon or other major retailers bring back deeper discounts. A 15% cash discount will usually beat double points in pure savings terms.
For The Shire, though, this promotion looks much stronger. With no major price drops yet, double points may currently be one of the better ways to buy it while also building up credit for a future LEGO purchase.
And if you are already buying from LEGO because you want points, gifts-with-purchase, or simply enjoy the official LEGO buying experience, this is a solid week to do it.
Pair It with Minas Tirith?
If you are feeling particularly brave, or you have recently discovered a forgotten treasure chest under your floorboards, you could also pair one of these sets with 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith.
Minas Tirith is currently available for LEGO Insiders and also qualifies for 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond through June 7, or while stocks last.
That makes this a pretty big week for LEGO Lord of the Rings fans. Between a brand-new flagship set, a themed gift-with-purchase and double points on three existing Middle-earth icons, LEGO is clearly giving collectors plenty of reasons to march straight into checkout.
Investabrick Takeaway
This is a useful promotion rather than an earth-shattering one.
For investors, double points should usually be viewed as a bonus, not the same as a proper cash discount. If a set is available elsewhere for 15% or 20% off, that is normally the better buy.
However, 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire stands out because it has not yet seen meaningful discounts. If you want it for your collection or you are considering it as a long-term hold, this double points window is one of the better buying opportunities so far.
Rivendell and Barad-dûr remain excellent sets, but investors should keep one eye on retailer discounts before jumping in.
For Lord of the Rings collectors, though? This is a great excuse to add another slice of Middle-earth to the shelf.
Just maybe measure the shelf first.
